Jenna & Will’s Christmas Wedding
As a busy Surrey Wedding Photographer the end of the year brings the fabulous Christmas weddings, with all the Christmas vibes and festive fun. I meet Jenna & Will at the Bridesvisited wedding fayre at Epsom Downs Racecourse where I exhibit twice a year. They were so excited to be getting married at the Leatherhead Registry Office and then going onto the quirky Red Lion and Cellar Room for their wedding reception. We had an autumn complimentary engagement shoot, which I love doing with couples, as it is a fun way of getting to know each other and banishing any camera fears, resulting in lovely relaxed photographs on the big day.
On the day I headed to Jenna’s parents house for some hair and makeup and getting ready photos, plus her dad’s ‘first look’ and then went off to Leatherhead Registry Office which is a lovely old venue and fond Surrey wedding favourite of mine, plenty of parking and lovely natural light in the ceremony room. Here I meet Will and his family and guests all waiting excitedly for Jenna and the bridesmaids to arrive. Jenna looked stunning in her lovely sparkling wedding gown and the little flower girls adorable and so well behaved. The bridesmaids wore beautiful rich emerald green dresses in keeping with the Christmas theme. The ceremony was full of smiles and laughter, they were so happy and so in love, it was fabulous to photograph. After the ceremony everyone lined up for confetti and the children had bubble guns which made for some great photos.
The Red Lion & Cellar Room Wedding Venue
The great thing about having a Christmas wedding all the venues and the Red Lion is no exception, are beautifully decorated for Christmas with festive decorations, fairy lights, trees and the Red Lion has quirky wooden animals outside with decorations too, making for a magical backdrop to the wedding. The Red Lion & Cellar Room, built in 1759, is situated in the village of Betchworth and offers a unique rustic charm for weddings and functions. Attached to the pub is a large marquee set up beautifully for the wedding breakfast with black and emerald green tablecloths and Christmas decorations. Johnathon Breckin was the magician for the afternoon and evening, providing much entertainment and amusement for the happy couple and guests alike, it was great fun to watch! The wedding breakfast was a hot buffet which was absolutely delicious and so much to eat, no one went hungry and everyone had second helpings! Mark, who manages the Red Lion, was a superb host making sure everyone had everything they needed including food and drinks. The speeches followed and had everyone in fits of laughter, reflecting such an amazing and happy couple. There was a break after the speeches and I took the opportunity to take Jenna & Will out for some sunset photos in the playing field opposite the pub, the sky was gorgeous and as a Surrey Wedding photographer I couldn’t resist, I just love the soft light and the cloud build up which makes for beautiful memory lasting images.
Creative and Natural Surrey Wedding Photography
The evening celebrations started with cutting the cake and the first dance to the cheering and delight of all the guests. The dance floor was packed and the music great. To keep everyone going there was more delicious, tasty snacks, but not before we lined up the guests for a sparkler exit which is always great fun, if not a little hair raising! Jenna, Will and their guests had everything they needed for a fabulous evening celebration and I so enjoyed photographing their special day. Before I left I set up a champagne shot which was a fantastic, fun way to finish the evening. Jenna and Will are such a gorgeous couple and it was a privilege to be part of their wedding celebrations and the get to know them over the year. I hope my images enable them to relive their wedding over and over again over the years to come.
Here’s what they had to say about me: ‘These pics are brilliant. We love them Thank you’
