On a lovely last summers day, I had the pleasure of photographing Helen & Charlie’s delightful family wedding, which was held in the beautiful St Nicholas Church, Sutton Bishop in Hampshire. Bridal prep took place at Helen’s mothers house which was a hive of activity and fun, with hair and makeup being done, dresses, shoes and flowers all at the ready. The excitement with the younger bridesmaids grew as the morning wore on and in between the light rain there was some fun to be had jumping off the flower bed wall.
The ceremony was held in St Nicholas Church, Bishop Sutton, a 12th Century little church built on the site of a Saxon Church. During the 13th and 14th Centuries parts of the church were rebuilt and added too, however sadly during the 17th Century and the Reformation most of the church was cleared out leaving the bare alter as it is today. None the less this is a beautifully romantic little church had been decorated with masses of
white flowers and small candle lights. Charlie couldn’t take his eyes off his gorgeous bride Helen and in every photo he is beaming with pride and joy. The happiness and love they have for each other was evident for all to see and this was wonderful to photograph. The confetti throw outside the church was fantastic fun with Helen and Charlie showered in colourful confetti, with a little more helpfully added by a family member.
After the ceremony the wedding photographs were taken in Helen’s grandfathers absolutely stunning landscaped garden, followed by a family meal and cutting the cake.
