My Approach to Your Wedding Day

Capturing the perfect images on your wedding day may be something you’re worried about. However, I can assure you that we will get the perfect shots of your big day.
You can discuss with me the details or read below to find out about my approach to your wedding day.

What happens on the day of your wedding?

I arrive early on the day of your wedding, even if I have photographed at your venue before as the light and weather is always different depending on the seasons.
I start with introductions and then move onto detail shots, your dress, shoes, flowers, engagement rings, perfume and the little treasures and gifts you have bought to make your day so special.
It is always a good idea to allow for at least half an hour before you are due to leave for the ceremony. This gives you time to take a breath, have a father ‘first look’ and a quiet moment to yourself before the day begins in full.
During your ceremony I will capture all the little moments, the laughter, the slight nerves and the joy of your ceremony as it unfolds and then the ‘Wow we’ve done it’ followed by the fun and excitement of the confetti throw and congratulations all round.

Planning your group wedding photographs

This is an important part of your day and it is often these photos you will look back on in time and share with generations of your family.
It can also be a bit hectic, however with a little planning we can take these without taking up too much of your reception.
It is best to limit your list to about ten groups and have someone who is able to gather everyone needed so you don’t have to wait around and can instead enjoy your guests and wedding reception.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

I will capture all the tender father of the bride and groom speeches, along with all the hilarious bestman speeches.
This is a time I love as the anticipation followed by laughter and sometime tears is just wonderful. It is a time when family and friends share stories of love and adventures along with remembering those who are not present.

Bride and Groom Portraits

When the wedding breakfast is over and the preparations for the evening celebrations are being arranged, this is the best time for us to go off and get some beautiful, romantic portraits.
I love this time of the day the most as light is softer in the evenings and it is a perfect time of day for portraits of just the two of you enjoying each other on your wedding day.
I will put you totally as ease and capture some natural relaxed images to reflect your feelings and love for each other.
I love to create some context shots blending your beautiful venue and the landscape that made up your wedding day so you can look back, feel the emotion and relive the moment.
Plan for approximately 30 – 40 minutes, it’s a time for just the two of you and a chance to reflect on your day so far.

Evening Celebrations

The evening kicks off with cutting the cake and your first dance as a married couple.
Maybe you have practiced a dance routine or have a special song that speaks volumes for your lives together, it’s a wonderful start to the evening party celebrations. No matter what you have planned I will be there to get some dance moves and perhaps a sparkler or firework finale.
