The fabulous wedding of Nainesha & Abhishek took place in December, before the Covid lockdown. The morning preparations took place at the beautiful Petersham Hotel overlooking the River Thames in Richmond. The Petersham Hotel was built in 1865 and has a stunning Portland Stone staircase which makes for lovely wedding photographs. What a great way to start the day. Emily Joanna was hard at work doing the hair and makeup and everyone looked radiant. After some pre wedding ceremony photos on the staircase and on the steps of the Petersham Hotel, we set off to York House for the wedding ceremony.
York House is a 17th Century building in Twickenham with the River Thames as a backdrop and lovely gardens for wedding photographs. The ceremony took place in the Winter Gardens and what a lovely intimate ceremony, despite Covid regulations and the wearing of masks. After the ceremony the wedding photographs were taken in the gardens and the pathway overlooking the Thames River. The wedding was live streamed to all the family unable to attend due to the current restrictions, it’s so good to have technology to share the joy and give a glimpse of the day unfolding.
After the ceremony it was back to the Petersham Hotel to cut the cake, have some welcome tea and exchange gifts before getting ready for the evening wedding breakfast, but not before having some photographs taken with the mist settling in the meadows near the Petersham Hotel. Once everyone was ready we went into London to Veeraswamy, UK’s oldest Indian restaurant established in 1926 and situated in Regent Street. As it was Christmas some fun was had taking photos with the Christmas lights, the crowds and the iconic red London buses. What a lovely wedding despite the strange times we are experiencing.
