Linzie & Scott’s Engagement Photography
Linzie and Scott chose Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park for their engagement photoshoot. As a busy Surrey Wedding Photographer, I’m lucky enough to live close to Richmond Park and can confirm that it is one of my favourite locations.
The Isabella Plantation is a 40-acre woodland garden planted in the 1830’s. Best known for its evergreen azaleas, which line the ponds and streams and at their peak flower in late April and early May. As Linzie and Scott had chosen mid-May for their photoshoot, these magnificent Victorian gardens were in full bloom. As you can see from the images, the setting was just stunning and I love the huge old oak trees, which make for such beautiful backdrops to the images. Even the weather behaved itself by giving us a bright spring morning.
I have a few favourite places in Surrey and Hampshire which lend themselves beautifully for engagement shoots, lots of space, lovely trees and paths so you can get away from any crowds and just enjoy your engagement shoot.
Linzie and Scott started off a little nervous but soon relaxed into it, which is why engagement photography is such a good idea. Most of us aren’t used to being photographed, so it’s a chance for couples to learn to relax in front of the camera, so that when it comes to the wedding day, couples are so used to me photographing them that they barely notice I’m there. My Collection Three wedding package includes an engagement photoshoot or family photoshoot.
Creative and Natural Surrey Engagement Photography
I was so thrilled with the images we got. I always go for a natural look of a couple just enjoying a walk and one another’s company. This approach really suits my unobtrusive style of photography. And Isabella Plantation’s walkways took Linzie and Scott through pretty bluebell woods, by idyllic ponds, and passed large ancient trees, that all made the most beautiful backdrops in my images.
Another reason why I like capturing engagement photography at Richmond Park is that it is so large, I can always find quiet spots for my photoshoot. This is especially useful as I like to work with large apertures to throw out the backdrop. This allows me to create images that really focus on my couples.
Having said that, on a bright Sunday in May, Richmond Park was busy. We were amused us that we kept on coming across the same group of Chinese visitors who seemed to like the same spots we did. They were quite curious about our photoshoot and were smiling at us and nodding their approval.
My favourite image of the engagement photoshoot was the one of Linzie and Scott just sitting on a bench in the park amongst the bluebells. I captured the moment from a distance. I like the way they are smiling at each other and how Linzie has her hand on Scott’s shoulder, take a look!
Experienced Surrey Engagement Photographer
I spent such a lovely hour in Richmond Park with Linzie and Scott and I know they were thrilled with their photos. Many of my couples go on to use the images from their engagement photoshoot in their wedding stationery.
Talking of weddings, Linzie and Scott are getting married in September at The Clockbarn, an idyllic barn wedding venue, that’s a real favourite with wedding photographers. I’m looking forward to it as much as they are!
